'Kay, I'll explain. According to the Wikipedia, a fanlisting is:
A fanlisting is a website created by a fan of a particular subject, with the aim of gathering together a list [...] of other fans of that particular subject.
As explained, the main aim of a fanlisting is to gather all the fans of a subject. What's the point? Well, you can find and meet other fans. Furthermore, if you have a website, you can join a fanlisting and put a cute banner showing what a proud fan you are.
There are a bunch of fanlisting directories. The most popular is The Fanlistings Network, but there are more, such as The Anime Fanlistings Network. All my fanlistings have been approved by one of those directories.
